VIRUSES

THE CHARACTERISTIC :
      Smaller size (25 – 300 micron)
      Only shown by electron microscopes
Only can live in living things
acelluler (viruses is not a cel no cell membrane, no cytoplasm, and other organel)
Has only one nucleat acid (DNA/RNA)
      Can be cristalized
Have various shape (oval, block, polyhedral and T-like shape)
THE STRUCTURE :
  • a unit of viruses is called Virion contain Nukleat acid(DNA/RNA) and Protein kapsid consist of many sub unit is called kapsomer
CLASSIFICATION
  • BASEN ON PLACE OF LIVE

1.      Bacteria viruses : if the viruses attach to bacteria, genetics material are DNA
2.Plant viruses  : if the viruses attach to plants, genetics material are RNA
3.Animal viruses : if the viruses attach to animals, genetics are DNA or RNA
§  BASED ON INDICATION DISEASE
1.      Virus causing common dissease as cacar, campak and demam berdarah
2.      Virus causing special disease, can only found in special organs as polio (syaraf),influenza(respiration),konjunctivic (radang pada mata), hepatitis (hati)

PLANT VIRUSE
  • Tobacco Mossaic Virus (TMV)Tembakau
  • Cucumber Mossaic Virus (CMV) Mentimun
  • Citrus Vein Phloem Degenaration (CVPD) Jeruk
§  Tungro – Padi Kerdil
ANIMAL VIRUSE
§  FMV (Foot And Mouth Disease), Sapi
§  NCD (New Castle Disease), Ayam
§  RhabdoVirus (Rabies), Anjing, Kucing, Monyet
§  RSV (Rous Sarcoma Virus), Tumor Ayam
HUMAN VIRUSE

      Chicken Fox
      Polio
      Herpes
      AIDS
      Hepatitis (A,B,C,D,E)
      SARSMeasles
      Dengue Fever
      Ebola
      Measles
      Avian Influenza
      Human Papiloma virus

THE ROLE OF VIRUSE
The beneficial role of viruses

Cloning of gene and teraphy of gene, vaccination.
1. OPV Oral polio Vaccine) atau vaccin of polio
2. Vaccin of rabies
3. Vaccin of hepatitis
4. Vaccin of influenza
5. Vaccin of cacar
6. Vaccin of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) for cacar, gondong andcampak)
RNA VIRUSES
  1. Virus Toga (Demam Kuning)
  2. Virus Arena (Meningitis)
  3. Virus Picorna (Polio)
  4. Retro Virus (AIDS)
  5. Virus Rhabdo (Rabies)
  6. Virus Hepatitis (Hepatitis C)
  7. Virus Orthomyxa (Influenza)

DIFFERENCE LITIC AND LISOGENIC

LITIC CYCLE
LYSOGENIC CYCLE
CONTROL OF DNA
DNA of viruses
Combine DNA of viruses ana hospes (profage)
